Privacy Policy
This site is owned and operated by Tim Woodring. The short version: I collect almost nothing, I track nothing, and I never sell anything about you. The longer version follows.
What this site collects
- Newsletter email address. If you subscribe to the newsletter, the email address you provide is stored so I can send you the newsletter. That's its only use.
- Email you send me. If you contact me directly, I'll have whatever you chose to send. It's used to reply to you and for nothing else.
- Standard server logs. The hosting provider keeps routine technical logs (IP address, request time, pages requested) for security and operations, as virtually every website host does.
What this site does not do
- No analytics or advertising trackers. There is no Google Analytics, no Meta pixel, no ad tech of any kind on this site.
- No tracking cookies. The site doesn't set cookies to follow you around.
- No selling, renting, or trading of personal information — ever.
- No data brokers, no "partners," no list sharing.
Where data lives
The site is hosted on Vercel. Newsletter subscriber emails are stored in a private Supabase database. Email correspondence lives in my email account. Each of these providers maintains its own security practices; none of them is given your data for any purpose beyond operating this site.
Social platforms and connected apps
This site links out to platforms like LinkedIn and X. What you do on those platforms is governed by their privacy policies, not this one.
I operate a small number of apps and integrations (including a Meta platform app) whose sole function is to publish my own content to my own accounts and pages. These apps do not collect, store, or process any data about visitors, followers, or any other users. They have no user-facing functionality and request no user data.
Data deletion
You can have anything I hold about you deleted on request:
- Newsletter: use the unsubscribe link in any issue, or email me and I'll remove you from the subscriber database entirely.
- Anything else: email tim@timwoodring.com with the request. I'll confirm when it's done — typically within a few days.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will be posted here with an updated effective date. Material changes won't be applied retroactively to data collected under an older version.
